Well, it's not actually about us, it's about you. We try to make our software useful and entertaining, because we want you and your friends to like our apps and buy them. Then we can keep doing this. So please send us your questions, suggestions and bug reports..
A note about the name "Cage-free Software". Apple has designed the iPhone and iPod so that the apps won't run unless you download them from the App Store. This is to protect the intellectual property of Apple and the app's authors (like us). Without these protections, it would be very easy to steal copies of apps, which are - let's face it - quite cheap. A group of crackers - in the true pejorative sense - has found a way to circumvent these restrictions, and refer to this practice as "jail-breaking the iPhone." This practice is illegal, and in our opinion, wrong. Stealing is harmful to the developers, who are mostly one and two person shops, not giant faceless corporations. (Though stealing from a giant faceless corporation is also wrong.) If the developers do not get paid for what they do, they will not be able to do it for long, and the market for apps will dry up. So if you jail-break your iPhone and use apps without paying for them, it's kind of like you're sitting in a boat with all the app users and developers in the world, and you're drilling a hole in hull. You rationalize this by thinking, "well, the hole is in their side of the boat, not mine." But as sure as the sun will rise, the boat will sink, with you in it.
So "Cage-free" has nothing whatsoever to do with jail-breaking. Rather, it is a metaphorical reference to the freedom to create interesting and fun apps without the restrictions normally imposed by marketing, legal and product management departments. And if you buy enough of our apps, we can continue to write them for you, and only charge you a measly buck. So you see, it all works out.
Oh, yeah, one other thing. We like the color green.
